Several union employees on a high profile construction project were terminated for reporting violations of their collective bargaining agreement. The contractor had developed a pattern of canceling days of work with no notice because of poor weather, religious holidays and other reasons. Because this posed a serious threat to the workers’ ability to provide for their families, several of them reported it. When the contractor terminated them on thinly-veiled charges, they retained Holm & O’Hara LLP. We were able to secure the workers’ reinstatement with back pay.
